Prevent annoying fan revving
Some motherboards and fan controllers give the option of adjusting fan spin-up or spin-down times. If you’re noticing that your fans seem to rev on and off, this is often due to very brief increases in CPU loads (and thus temperatures). Setting the spin-up and spin-down times to a second or two can prevent this issue by giving the controller a moment to wait before raising or reducing fan speeds upon thermal changes, preventing unwanted noise bursts. However, only use this feature on bigger coolers that have more thermal capacity to catch the energy from the thermal spikes.
