Male chastity toys hacked for permanent cockblock
Sex toy security flaw could mean you have to ‘cut it off’.
Security researchers from Pen Test Partners found some serious security flaws in the male chastity device known as Cellmate. Qiui Chastity designed the deadlockable Cellmate sex toy to enclose a user’s penis and lock or unlock it using a Bluetooth key stored on a partner’s mobile phone without any mechanical override. This hard lock was triggered by an unprotected API, which meant anyone who knew their way around a network protocol could permanently clamp the ‘toy’ without too much difficulty. Because of a metal ring that attached around the user, the researchers said that you’d likely have to use heavy-duty bolt cutters or an angle grinder to cut it off.
