HOW TO Create and edit Smart Stacks
01 GET STARTED
In Widgetsmith, choose your widget size. Here, we will choose Medium. Tap Default Widget, then decide what you want your widget to do. We have selected Clock, giving us a calendar and clock together in one widget.
02 CUSTOMISE THE DETAILS
Each widget can be tweaked. For instance, the clock widget lets you change its overall style, theme, location, clock style, and min/sec hand type. Under Aesthetic/Theme, tap Customize Theme for more options.
03 CHOOSE A NAME AND SAVE
When done with visual adjustments, tap the name of your widget in the top-left corner. Tap its name in the top-centre to rename it, then tap Save. The widget is now added to Widgetsmith’s library on your device.
04 PLACE YOUR WIDGET
Tap and hold a blank area of your Home screen to enter jiggle mode, then tap the ‘+’ button to add a widget. Select Widgetsmith in the list and choose the size of widget you just created, then tap Add Widget.
05 CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE
If you have created more than one widget, tap the one you just placed when in jiggle mode so it flips over. Tap the name of the widget, then tap the one you want from the list. Tap the Home screen, then tap Done.
06 CREATE A TIMED WIDGET
Timed widgets change depending on the time of day by setting a time when a standard widget will change its function or appearance. For a timed widget to work, you need a standard widget on your Home screen first.
07 PICK AN ACTIVE TIME
Choose an existing widget in Widgetsmith, then tap Add a Timed Widget. Use the clock hands to choose when it will be active (at other times the standard widget is active). You can add another time slot by tapping the ‘+’.
08 SET ITS FUNCTION
Tap the widget preview on the edge of the clock (not the one in the centre) to set how it will function and look during the timed period. You can choose a different type of widget if you like. When you are done, tap Save.
