Sonos has realized its vision of creating brilliant sound in the home, making it easy to play any song in any room
The Sonos Amp is a powerful and versatile home audio amplifier that powers traditional wired speakers with sound from almost any source, fully integrating these speakers into Sonos’ easy-to-use home sound system.
Twice as powerful as its predecessor, Connect Amp, and with 125 watts per channel, Sonos Amp is a must-have for music lovers wanting to power their home audio, however demanding the set-up. Supporting Apple’s AirPlay 2 and more than a hundred streaming services, including Spotify and Apple Music, it also has an HDMI ARC port for TVs.
The Sonos Amp can convert classic bookshelf or freestanding speakers to stream music or integrate a record player. The user is free to choose what plays in each room or to group rooms to play their favourite sounds everywhere.
With a shared commitment to delivering superior sound, Sonos and Sonance have collaborated on a range of “built-in” speakers designed to “disappear” into any space while providing clear sound, even coverage and high-quality performance when wired to the Sonos Amp.
The Sonos Architectural range includes three different styles of speaker (in-wall, in-ceiling and outdoor), all of which can be controlled through the Sonos app. When paired with the Sonos Amp, the in-ceiling and in-wall speakers’ unique hardware signature unlocks Sonos’ TrueplayTM tuning technology, which takes into account the size, construction and furnishings of the room where the speakers are placed and automatically adjusts the equalization for optimal sound. The speaker grilles can be painted to match the ceiling or wall colour.
The outdoor speaker is the first Sonos speaker designed for use outside. Featuring a weatherproof design, it is engineered to withstand a wide variety of environmental conditions, allowing users to enjoy audio content year-round from anywhere in the home, whether inside or out.
“Our goal was to bring the Sonos experience to architectural speakers for the first time,” says Sonos CEO Patrick Spence. “Sonance was the natural partner, sharing our passion for high-quality, reliable sound solutions inside and outside the home.”
