The buildings of tomorrow.

-

The Sustainable Buildings Research Centre in North Wollongong makes a bold statement about material choice and conceptual design, while achieving the Illawarra’s first six-star Green Star Building rating. It is also the first building in Australia to be accredited under the Living Building Challenge.

The design takes into account the coastal and bush surroundings, while using a selection of materials – including recycled bricks, insulated steel panels and steel railway tracks – to create an aesthetic and unique character.

The project was unified by the use of COLORBOND® steel, which is durable and resilient – like the natural environment.

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is available for COLORBOND® steel which identifies the environmental impact of the product over its lifecycle. Please visit steel.com.au/epd to get the latest copy of this document.
