Industry Insights welcomes interactive moveart sculptures® to Australia – inspiring multi-generational connection.

-

Aesthetically beautiful, moveart sculptures® are the latest innovation to enliven urban landscapes across the globe. Developed in Switzerland, the organic forms and natural rhythms of the sculptures – based on the double helix – radiate beauty, making the structures objects of art as well as forms for creative urban street furniture and play.

Marcus, the Australian and New Zealand distributor and authorized installer, describes moveart sculptures® as perfectly suited to Australia’s outdoor lifestyle – ideal for cityscapes, parks, gardens, riverbanks, rooftops, aged-care facilities and schools alike. Crafted from certified 100% ecological and sustainable Accoya timber, each interactive form brings together art, safety and function to encourage visitors of all ages to explore, play and connect.

The hallmarks of moveart sculptures® are that they encourage movement – sitting, lying, balancing, climbing, sliding or swinging – and inspire an appreciation of beautiful artform stillness. Each form is chosen for harmony with its unique surroundings and engineered to consider the physical needs of those engaging with it – be it children, adults, the elderly or a combination of different-need users. This audience profiling ensures that the resultant multifunctional artform creates multi-generational community connections and memories. moveart sculptures® are available in a large number of design variants. Plus, bespoke forms like the “Arosa Wave” (pictured above) can be designed, crafted and installed. The Arosa Wave is set in one of Switzerland’s most popular alpine destinations and attracts visitors of all ages from around the world. The aim of this project was to bring life and personality to the central village square. moveart went through a participative design development process that resulted in the Arosa Wave sculpture, which is now heralded as an unforgettable central meeting landmark, loved by both locals and tourists.

All moveart playsculptures® meet playground safety standards and have an expected minimum lifetime of 25 years in an outdoor area. The play sculptures are constructed from certified 100% ecological and sustainable Accoya timber that has undergone an organic process to alter the cell structure, making it stronger and more durable in diverse and harsh outdoor environments. With no maintenance required and highly resistant to vandalism, moveart sculptures® are the perfect people-connecting installation for all civil landscaping projects.

Marcus is passionate about creating unique, tangible, memorable spaces for all visitors to enjoy and supports moveart’s desire to bring passion, beauty and functionality into public spaces, using organic forms that unite people of all ages.
