Ruark Lewis is a writer and artist whose work ignites new ways of thinking about the world through art, investigation and social engagement. This monograph is the first publication of its kind on Lewis and covers three decades of the artist’s output of experimentation, creation and his extensive exhibition and performance history.

From the outset, the book engages the reader in written texts by Ian Maclean, James Paull, Dianne Johnson, Bengitj Ngurruwuthun and Paul Carter accompanied by images of Lewis’ works across multiple art forms and includes performance and studio shots, which altogether give understanding and insight to the artist’s interdisciplinary relational arts practice. In the final pages, Paull’s chronology packs a neat timeline of the artist’s journey in art.
