Core Plus studio by Techne Architecture and Interior Design
Techne Architecture and Interior Design has created an uplifting studio space for Core Plus, a Melbourne-based yoga and pilates operator. A former newsagency was converted for the Ascot Vale studio, with local makers and suppliers contributing to the unique design. The storage and functional elements have been designed to be playful – deep blue lockers are adorned with bold white numbers and a sculptural Mondrian-esque desk in white, red, blue and chrome welcomes guests. Overall, the palette is neutral – timber floors, white-painted walls, muted grey tiles in the change rooms – so that the energetic brand colours can pop against it. The design approach aimed to reflect the holistic studio experience and the multifaceted approach that users are taking toward their health and fitness. “Key to our design was creating a welcoming studio that not only induces a sense of ease but also connects and energizes,” says Sam Sempill, associate at Techne.
