Riihitie Plant Pot by Artek
▲ Finnish architect and pioneer of Scandinavian design Aino Aalto created this plant pot for the terrace of the home she built with her architect husband, Alvar, on Helsinki’s Riihitie Road. Crafted in ceramic, the pot displays a curved, organic shape. Although it was featured at the 1937 Paris World’s Fair, it never went into serial production. Artek, the design company Aino and Alvar founded in 1935, has reinterpreted the design in three sizes for indoor use. The Riihitie Plant Pot is available in a range of colours referencing bespoke ceramic tiles created for Aalto buildings.
