Chancery Lane by Bergman & Co

▼ Working within the historic bones of Melbourne’s Normanby Chambers, Bergman and Co set out to reinstate the charm and decadence of the building, while introducing an immersive dining experience celebrating chef Scott Pickett’s signature cuisine. With the ambition to create an “instant institution,” Bergman and Co sought to craft a rich and memorable dining atmosphere; a place of comfort, serenity and celebration.

The existing layout was constrained and impractical, requiring a considered spatial strategy to give clarity. Incongruous additions, including sizeable banking safes, were stripped away, while entry points were redefined, establishing an intuitive spatial sequencing throughout.

Grand arched bar shelving creates a dramatic sense of arrival. A sinuous timber and leathered marble bar encourages a meandering experience, offering glimpses between diverse dining atmospheres, with spaces to socialize, retreat, dine and dwell.
