Sky Bar by Sora and CHT Architects
◄ A combination of iconic Melbourne landmarks and the grandeur of the building architecture heavily influenced Sora Interiors’ vision for Melbourne’s new Sky Bar. The central intent was to take advantage of the unique position of the space, 140 metres above the city. Materials are reflective to mirror the unobstructed sky views; back-lit glass bars are the main lighting source, creating an atmospheric “lightness” and floating feeling.
The walls and ceilings are black to enhance the glow from the bar. A sense of being among the clouds is fostered by the carpet’s organic, cloud-like texture and the curved surface edges within the space. Photography — Pete Dillon
