Between Asia & Australia

The Wallace Line was defined in 1859, and runs between Lombok

and Bali and north through the Makassar Strait between Borneo and Sulawesi. It separates the

two biological realms of Asia and Australia, and explains the different animal species found on

both sides of the continent
