Asian Geographic - - Front Page - The Ideal Lightweight Travel Companion

As a travel writer and photographer who’s constantly on the move, I need a camera that is light and flexible – small enough to fit in a backpack. Of course, one does not want to trade image quality for efficiency, and the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II is surprising in its ability to capture excellent images across a wide range of ISOS. Easy to use, and faster than its predecessor, it is ideal as a lightweight travel companion, or as a secondary camera.

With a class-leading sensor and lens, the Mark II is the first camera in Canon’s Premium Compact range to use the new DIGIC 7 image processor to support several new performance improvements – from better autofocus tracking to enhanced image stabilisation. The startup is incredibly quick, and the camera boasts continuous highspeed shooting up to 8fps.

The zoom lens affords impressive flexibility, and ‘Dual Sensing’ image stabilisation uses data from the image sensor (in addition to gyro-scoping sensors) to reduce the blur caused by camera shake. The new panning mode is intended to adjust the shutter speed to ensure that your moving subject is effectively ‘frozen’.

The camera is also extremely flexible in regards to a variety of shooting styles and subjects, from sharp and vibrant captures of moving subjects in natural light, to little noise when shooting in low-light conditions. The Canon Powershot G7X Mark II comes highly recommended.
