YINTALE ( YINTALAI)

-

One of the smallest Kayah subgroups, the Yintale tribe is a fast-disappearing tribe, as is its unique traditions and cultures. The people are dispersed over three villages throughout Bawlakhe Township, south of Loikaw, capital city of the Kayah State.

The Yintale tribe’s official dialects are Bawlake and Wa Awng. The three villages also have their own language known as Yintale, which is reportedly made up a variety of dialects from Western Kayah, such as Chi Kwe, Sounglog and Wan Cheh.
