Prepaid SIM cards can be bought for as low as 2,000 rupiah (US15 cents) and credit, starting from 10,000 rupiah (US70 cents) to 50,000 rupiah (USD3.50), can be topped up in accordance to ones requiremen­t. Most of the time, tourists usually buy a SIM packaged with data. The data packs can at times be expensive when purchased in internatio­nal airports, especially in Bali.

Purchase

SIMs and data packs can be purchased at airports and convenienc­e stores. Passports are not required to make the purchase.

Topping up

Top-up cards can be bought from various retailers such as mobile stores and convenienc­e stores and top-ups can also be purchased online using a credit card.
