Garuda Indonesia
The national airline of Indonesia was founded in 1947 as KLM Interinsulair Bedrijf and acquired the name “Garuda Indonesia” two years later. Today, it is a major airline and a member of the global airline alliance Skyteam, operating in Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Europe. Like the Garuda – the mythical giant bird in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythology – the airline has spread its wings to serve almost 100 destinations and continues to expand its services.
