Sumatran Elephant

-

Sumatran elephants ( Elephas maximus sumatranus) are part of a noble effort, trudging through the forest and eating plants as well as expelling seeds, which are necessary for a productive ecosystem, and also indirectly helping other endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger, orangutan, and rhino. However, the approximately 2,500 individuals now left in the wild continue to be threatened by humans, which have already taken over more than 70 percent of their habitat and claimed their precious ivory. It is speculated that the entire population might go extinct within a decade.
