Kara Coconut Cream
Meet Kara, the coconut specialists. Whether you are looking to make dishes rich in taste, or enjoy a natural form of hydration packed with nutrients after a sweat session, the good people at Sambu Group (the producer of Kara products) have you covered. The coconut has finally been getting the recognition it deserves as of late, as what hides inside its tough, green shells is a GMO-, dairy-, lactose-, cholesterol-, and preservative- free nutritional profile that is bursting with healthy medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAS).
With Kara, a name aptly derived from the Indonesian term kelapa rakyat, which translates to “the people’s coconut”, all bases are covered - whether it is forthe benefit of the consumer, the farmer, or environmental, social and economic sustainability.
Started in 1967 by Mr Tay Juhana, the late Singaporean-born founder of Sambu Group who ventured to Indonesia in search of a holistic business, Kara products are produced in three factories located in Riau province today. Upholding its late founder’s vision of creating quality products that combine integrity and innovation without overlooking sustainable practices and social inclusion, the group toils to go above and beyond the standards of the norm to ensure environmental conservation methods that concern forest restoration, recycling and reusing, and preserving a healthy ecosystem. Sambu Group also continues to have the hearts of local coconut farmers in mind, driven by an unfaltering faith in their craft.
“What’s in a coconut?” you may have wondered. Here is the answer, to you and to our future, of habitat and health.
