Parle Products

- FOUNDER: MOHANLAL DAYAL

Parle began in 1928 with just 12 employees, and their first biscuit, the iconic Parle-g (G for Gluco) was baked in 1938. Enjoyed in its crunchy glory or slightly softened after dipping in tea, it has been a staple breakfast or snack item not only in India, but also across continents, from Asia, to Africa, to Europe. In 1941, Parle also introduced the first salted cracker in India – Monaco – and five years later made India’s longest oven, at some 76 metres, to accommodate its growing range and rising sales. Between 2011 to 2016, Parle-g was the world’s number one selling biscuit, surpassing Oreo. Today, Parle has factories in India as well as Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nepal, and Mexico, ensuring enough Gluco goodness for the entire world.
