Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is widely known as a prime dive destination for its long trail of corals off the coast of Queensland. But the adventure doesn’t end beneath the waters. Non-divers can enjoy the serenity of secret islands planted between the reefs, such as Fitzroy Island, which boasts a turtle rehabilitation centre and wild mangroves; and Lizard Island, which, as its name suggests, is home to lumbering monitor lizards as well as beautiful tropical birds.
