Konya-urgench

Konya-urgench is a municipality in northern Turkmenistan, where its rich cultural history is manifested in its architectural remains whose influence reached Iran and Afghanistan and the Mogul Empire of 16th-century India. In 2005, the ruins of Old Urgench were given UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The ancient town of Ürgenç was one of the most important stops on the famed Silk Road.
