The company was founded by Mushtaq Shaikh, who left India for Dubai in the 1960s with just 300 rupees – the equivalent of five US dollars today. The company is now known for its perfect fitting and impeccable quality at low prices – 60 percent less than a similar product made in London. It has never relied on any form of advertising, gaining loyal customers only through word of mouth, first locally, then from the USA, Lebanon, the UK, and beyond. The company also makes clothing for dozens of international airlines, and they have even designed suits for celebrities, such as Imran Khan.
