Huawei
Huawei made its first phone, the C300, in 2004. Today, it has overtaken Apple to become the world’s second-largest smartphone maker, behind Samsung, due largely to the comparative affordability of its models. In 2014, looking for ways to improve its smartphone cameras, Huawei struck a deal with Leica, and since 2016, optics from the German premium camera brand have been appearing in the company’s top phones.
