Only operating in the Asia-pacific market, Star Cruises traces its founding by Malaysian Chinese billionaire businessman Lim Kok Thay to 1993. Owned by Genting Hong Kong, it operates in the waters of Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. The cruise line also organises special events such as the Oktoberfest at Sea, which runs between September and October.
