Save the BEYOND Campaign

Enter Eric Larsen. Polar explorer. Expedition guide. Educator. When we think of adventurers, we think of them aiming to be the first. But what if the aim is to be the last? Eric’s explorations include the first ever summer expedition to the North Pole (2006), and becoming the first person to reach the “top, bottom and roof” of the world within 365 days by trekking to the North and South Poles, and then summiting Mt. Everest (2009–2010). In 2014, Eric was part of the Last North Expedition, so named because climate change could make it the last ever unsupported expedition to the North Pole. All Eric’s expeditions are designed to educate people about the effects of global warming on some of the wildwest, remotest and most beautiful places on the planet. Eric’s strong belief in the critical necessity of time – in hours, days, or over an extended period – is intertwined with Citizen’s Promaster line, whether for personal journeys, or one to save the Earth.
