LI BAI (701–762) was a Chinese poet who was hugely influential in his own time, and subsequent generations of Chinese have lauded him as a genius who took traditional poetic forms to new heights. He was known as one of the most prominent figures in the flourishing of Chinese poetry in the Tang dynasty, which is often referred to as the “Golden Age of Chinese Poetry”.
