Persian Empire
The Persian Empire was established soon after humans had learned how to make steel; weapons made by the Persians were sharper and stronger. Known for fighting on horseback, the ancient Persians were the first civilisation to have an armoured cavalry, with horses and riders completely covered in steel armour. A famous artefact from the time was the Kulah Khud, a steel headpiece worn by Persian soldiers in the 18th and 19th century
