Great scores posted at competitions
Gerard McCabe won the nine-hole Stableford at Tuesday veterans game with a score of 21, closely followed by Bruce Darby with 20.
The third prize went to Alan Dale on a multiple countback from Abe Huisken and Terry Halsall, all on 19 points.
The women played their fifth round of silverspoon, won by Kerry Farrelly with a score of 74.
Di Yates came first in the A-grade of the stroke event also on 74 on a countback from Kerry Farrelly. The B-grade was won by Libby Dawson with a great score of 68 points, followed by Mandy Farrell who just beat Tania Easton on a countback (73).
Libby Dawson also was the champion putter of the day.
Val Meleri scored best for the nine-hole competition.
Geoff Harveson scored top man at Thursday’s Bare Rooted Wines scroungers event with a score of 38.
Graeme Smith just got the better of Bob Williams, both scoring 36 points.
Barbara Webster scored best again at the mixed nine-hole competition on Friday with 18 points. Di Yates and Val Meleri came second and third. Rob Hearn was best man, winning over new member Marc Dickson.
The Leeuwin Estate 7th Monthly Mug on Saturday was won by captain Ian Chidgey with a score of 69.
Nick Liebenberg was a close second (70), and Dean Taylor third with one point more.
The Bookers sponsored in Pilates-style for their mixed Stableford. Rosie Burnet played best woman of the day (35), while partner Bruce Darby (37) got the best man title. Roy Warren came third with 35 points.
