Students travel from afar for HPV race
Students and velomobile enthusiasts from across the State descended on Busselton foreshore on Sunday for the annual Pedal Prix.
Busselton hosted a six-hour non-series race, with about 43 teams competing in the endurance race. The event — which is the fourth human-powered vehicle race to take place in WA — saw teams race human powered vehicles around an 850m closed controlled circuit.
Some students travelled from Victoria to participate. Emerald District Education Centre’s trip to the west paid off when their team, Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies, led by 15 laps and totalled 233 laps.
St Mary MacKillop and Georgiana Molloy Anglican School’s category two teams placed equal 25th, completing 156 laps.
