Congratulations on organ donor promo

Augusta Margaret River Times - - Letters - Paul Nock, Margaret River

I would like to congratulate Richard Todd and company for the fantastic work they have done in promoting organ donation, and their latest trailer taking off Monty Python’s Life of Brian is another excellent piece of work highlighting the importance of organ donation

I was born in the early 60s and survived the 70s, and I went to a Catholic School. No way am I offended by the promotion.

I can’t remember much protesting about the Life Of Brian in the late 70s and I cannot understand why people would want to be taken off the register because of the promo.

Why leave possible organ recipients to suffer because you don’t have a sense of humour?

For the record, I am a kidney transplant recipient and have just celebrated my kidney’s first birthday and it has totally changed my life.

When diagnosed with kidney failure, I was told I had four months to live. Dialysis kept me going for another six months but wasn’t very pleasant.

Then I received a kidney in October last year and I am almost back to a normal life.

I have met many organ recipients and it is impossible to explain what receiving a transplant has done for them, so please head to the Donate Life website and register and also make your wishes known to your family as they will still need to consent.
