En­tries open for pop­u­lar Small Fries

En­tries for the 2019 Taj’s Small Fries are now open, with places fill­ing fast.

The sig­na­ture ju­nior surf­ing event is in its 14th year, hosted by pro­fes­sional surfer Taj Bur­row in his South West home town.

The com­pe­ti­tion will be held from Jan­uary 11-13 in Yallingup and is one of the most an­tic­i­pated ju­nior surf­ing com­pe­ti­tions in Aus­tralia.

Past win­ners in­clude names well-known in the in­ter­na­tional surf com­mu­nity, in­clud­ing Creed McTag­gart, Jack Robin­son, Ja­cob Will­cox and Kael Walsh.

Capes grom­mets tri­umphed at the 2018 com­pe­ti­tion, with six of the seven top spots go­ing to surfers from Mar­garet River, Grace­town, Duns­bor­ough and Yallingup.

Mar­garet River’s Finn Cox was crowned un­der-16 boys win­ner and Yallingup’s Emma Cat­tlin won the un­der-16 girls’ di­vi­sion.

Groms can en­ter the 16-and- un­der boys and girls, 14-and-un­der boys and girls, 12-and-un­der boys and girls and 10-and-un­der mixed. For more in­for­ma­tion and to en­ter, visit surfin­gaus­tralia.com.
