Xanadu staff savour taste of success at national gongs
Xanadu Wines has described its latest win as part of a “dream run” through the recent winery awards season.
The team was celebrating last week after the 2016 Xanadu Stevens Road cabernet sauvignon scored the Red Wine of Show, Single Vineyard Dry Red and Cabernet Sauvignon trophies at the National Wine Show of Australia. The same wine scored the Red Wine of Provenance trophy for its consistent style and quality.
The winery said it was a “testament to the unerring passion and dedication of the winemaking and viticulture team”.
“This latest wine further cements Xanadu as one of Australia’s leading cabernet producers,” according to chief wine- maker Glenn Goodall. Stella Bella Wines also did well at the national show, picking up the Best Single Vineyard White Wine for its 2017 Luminosa Chardonnay and a gold medal for its 2017 Stella Bella Chardonnay. “It is truly amazing to see our chardonnay recognised on this national stage,” chief winemaker Luke Jolliffe said.
“A challenge of making truly great wine is expressing where the wine comes from. Our entire team is dedicated to cultivating the unique character of our southern Margaret River vineyards and wine styles, which showcase elegance, natural acidity and a minerality that is distinctive of their origin.”
Jolliffe said Stella Bella had its best year to date, including prestigious wins at the Margaret River Wine Show last month.
