Shire parks for everyone
The Shire of Augusta-Margaret River says rangers will not act on itinerants who have become regular fixtures in the Margaret River CBD’s parks.
Asset services manager David Nicholson cited inclusivity in responding to Times inquiries.
“The Shire doesn’t exclude people from using public facilities on the basis of age, place of origin, social economic status, etc,” Mr Nicholson said.
“Itinerants and youth are as welcome to use Memorial Park as other members of the public.”
Margaret River police previously said there was no role for officers unless crimes were suspected.
