Showcase of talent at club event
The Augusta Art Club will celebrate its 51st annual art exhibition from January 10-12 with hundreds of paintings and fine china on show at the Augusta centennial hall.
An event will be held for the official opening at 7pm on Thursday.
The collection of about 300 new and retrospective works by 35 club members will be sold at the event and participants can enjoy afternoon tea included in the $5 entry fee. The theme for the event is “Moving on” which includes works made in club workshops, painting without brushes and acrylic painting.
Proceeds from a raffle will be donated to the WA Royal Flying Doctor Service and to helping run future events of the club.
Augusta Art Club president Bev Schroder said the event was popular with both locals and visitors.
“It’s a great opportunity for members to show off their works which have been developed throughout the year,” she said.
“This event is not to be missed, it gets bigger and better every year.”
