Collective connect with country
Blue Child Collective are gearing up for a 13-date national tour promoting their latest album, Wake Up To The Sound.
Centred on Margaret River’s Dan White, the collective includes Emjay Angeni and Lindsay Baker, as well as a growing and evolving line-up of musicians from across the country.
The album’s current single, Eye Of The Needle, features Sol Carroll, from Band of Frequencies, and represents the collective’s signature feel-good roots vibes.
While this time around, they will tour as a five-piece, the latest album features the likes of Bobby Alu on drums and percussion, Ken Allars (Caravana Sun) on trumpet and keys, OJ Newcomb (Band Of Frequencies/THUMP) on bass and Angela Iimura on backing vocals.
The album also features special appearances from Carroll (Band of Frequencies/Afro Dizzi Act) on vocals and Taro Terahara on bansuri.
Captured at Yama-Nui Studio on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast by PaulieB (The Beautiful Girls/Bobby Alu/George), the collective says the album is “truly a collective effort, exemplifying what can be achieved through human connection”.
The collective will play at Saharan Daze in Cowaramup on January 9, The River in Margaret River on February 11 and Clancy’s Fish Pub Dunsborough on February 12.
