RIDE NZ WITH ADVENTURE MOTO
Over the years we’ve enjoyed numerous tours of duty spent riding trail and adventure bikes around New Zealand, and each and every ride has been filled with memorable moments that include endless scenic highlights, gorgeous countryside and spectacular mountain trails.
While the COVID pandemic slowed down global travel, rest assured overseas touring is all-go again and organised ride tours are clicking top gear once more.
Local Adventure Moto boss Steve ‘Wolfy’ Smith and his wife Jen recently returned from a ride in New Zealand’s South island, teaming up with local bike tour operator Ultimate Adventure Moto NZ to join in on their five-day Southern Passes ride.
Wolfy rode a Ténéré 700 on the tour, while Jen was aboard a KTM 690 Enduro, and they rated the ride as an absolute ripper. The trip kicked off at Christchurch and overnight stops included Queenstown, Alexandra and Omarama, as the group spent day after day climbing snow-capped mountains and plunging down into ice-cold rivers, all the while enjoying that renowned Kiwi hospitality.
Wolfy told us UAMNZ trail boss Steve Gillies was the ultimate host and his team were thoroughly pro tour operators.
“Every aspect of the ride was just brilliant,” said Wolfy, who was so inspired that he’s now teaming up with UAMNZ to promote two Adventure Moto tours for Aussie riders in NZ over the coming summer months. One will be the same five-day
South Island Southern Passes ride Wolfy and Jen rode, while the other will be a big daddy ten-day South Island Back Country Adventure Tour.
