SIGMA ADDS TO I LINE OF COMPACT PRIMES
SIGMA HAS ADDED two new models to its I series of compact prime lenses for Sony FE and L mount mirrorless cameras (i.e. Leica, Panasonic and Sigma’s own fp models). The newcomers are the 24mm f/2.0 DG DN Contemporary and the 90mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary, bringing the choice of I-series lenses up to six. The I-series lenses all feature metal barrel constructions with weather sealing. The focusing rings, aperture collars and lens hoods feature a knurled finish for enhanced grip, while the optical designs make the most of the size reductions and performance enhancements that are possible with mirrorless cameras. The new 24mm f/2.0 has a 13-element optical construction that includes two ‘SLD’ types, one ‘FLD’ type and two aspherical types. The 90mm f/2.8 has an 11-element control that includes a total of five ‘SLD’ types, one of which is also aspherical. Both models are available now, each priced at $925.
