Type: Coupled rangefinder digital camera with interchangeable lenses using Leica M-bayonet mount (with contacts for 6-bit coding for lens ID). Focusing: Manual via double-image rangefinder in viewfinder. RF base length is 69.31mm (effective base length is 50.6mm). Focusing in live view assisted by a magnified image (5x or 10x, with image stabilisation) or focus peaking display (red, green, blue or white, and high or low sensitivity).
Metering: TTL using the image sensor (with both RF and LV) with multi-zone, centreweighted average or spot measurements, and TTL flash metering using the imaging sensor with centre-weighted average measurements. Exposure Modes: Aperture priority auto and metered manual.
Shutter: Electronic focal plane, vertical travel, metal blades. 480-1/4,000 second plus ‘B’ and ‘T’ (up to 60 minutes). Flash sync up to 1/180 second. Sensor shutter has a speed range of 60-1/16,000 second. Exposure compensation of up to +/-3.0 EV in 1/3-stop increments. Viewfinder: Optical with automatic parallax correction and LED exposure read-outs. LED brightline frames are automatically switched between 35mm/135mm, 28mm/90mm and 50mm/75mm when the lens is attached. 0.73x magnification. Fixed 7.5 cm LCD monitor (2.3 million dots resolution) with manual/auto brightness control, ‘Exposure Preview’ mode and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass faceplate. Optional Visoflex 2 electronic viewfinder module (3.69 million dots resolution) attaches via the hotshoe.
Flash: No built-in flash. External flash units sync via hotshoe.
Additional Features: Diecast magnesium bodyshell sealed for dust protection and shower proofing (silver version has brass top and bottom panel, black version has aluminium), auto exposure bracketing (over three or five frames, up to +/-3.0 EV adjustment), AE lock, dual-mode self-timer (two or 12 second delays), audible signals, auto power off, cable release socket.
