Spain’s climate, agriculture, forestry and energy use are similar to our own in many respects
ANDREW LANG - World Bioenergy Association vice president and board member representing Australasia-Oceania, attended the European Biomass Power conference in Seville, Spain, but now he’s wondering just who in Australia in positions of power and influence knows about what is happening in this sector in Europe. Spain’s climate, agriculture, forestry and energy use are similar to our own in many respects. Andrew attended the conference and pre-conference tour, and gave a presentation on energy densification of biomass and the potential for densified biomass supply into Europe from more distant sources including Australasia. He was asked to act as chair for the second day of the conference, and led panel discussions and the final summing up.
Here’s Andrew’s coverage of that conference and of the similarities between the two countries. Maybe it’s time now for Australia to ‘bite the bullet’ when it comes to bio-power.
