Keep­ing ahead of tech­nol­ogy trends

Pon­sse and Epec are jointly es­tab­lish­ing a prod­uct de­vel­op­ment unit in Tam­perem Fin­land, for de­sign­ing the soft­ware and au­to­ma­tion of mo­bile work ma­chines. The aim is to en­sure the con­tin­ued avail­abil­ity of top ex­perts in the fields of soft­ware and au­to­ma­tion.

With the rapid de­vel­op­ment of tech­nol­ogy, the im­por­tance of soft­ware in for­est ma­chines is grow­ing rapidly.

Pon­sse wants to re­main at the fore­front of de­vel­op­ment. Tam­pere was cho­sen as the lo­ca­tion of the new prod­uct de­vel­op­ment unit, since the city has be­come a growth cen­tre for the work ma­chine in­dus­try. and au­to­ma­tion.

En­gi­neers will be re­cruited for the Tam­pere R&D unit to meet the needs of Pon­sse’s sub­sidiary Epec also. Epec is ac­tively seek­ing growth as a sup­plier of smart con­trol sys­tem so­lu­tions.

The R&D unit will be lo­cated in Kam­pusa­reena, which is a hub of science, re­search and tech­nol­ogy lo­cated at the heart of the cam­pus of Tam­pere Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy. Op­er­a­tions are sched­uled to be­gin be­fore the end of the year. The prod­uct de­vel­op­ment unit will have ap­prox­i­mately 20 em­ploy­ees by the end of next year.

Pon­sse Plc is a com­pany spe­cial­is­ing in the sales, man­u­fac­ture, ser­vic­ing and tech­nol­ogy of cut-to-length method for­est Ma­chines.
