STEPHEN TUDOR, MATCH- GOING FAN SINCE 1986
This season will be different to last because... well, I hope it won’t be. More of the same, please!
Our most underrated player is
Fernandinho – the power behind the throne. He was consistently immense last season.
The opposition player I secretly admire is
Eden Hazard, who makes Chelsea three times as good when he’s in the mood. Christian Eriksen, also, is never less than a pleasure to watch.
Save the date for
Liverpool away on October 6, and an end to City’s Anfield hoodoo. The club last won there in 2003.
Keep an eye out for
Phil Foden. The emergence of ‘the Stockport Iniesta’ will, I hope, end the jibes that City don’t have a first-team pathway for their youth.
The player I would happily drive to another club is
Claudio Bravo, although we wouldn’t get very far before his clown car fell apart.
One change I would make at our club is
to lessen the alienation of long-serving hardcore fans in favour of luring in new support.
This season we will finish
comfortably top of the league, only minus the records.
FFT asks: Why should 2018-19 be the year City win their first back-to-back titles?
The chasm between City and their rivals is too vast to bridge over the course of a single summer.
