Australian butterfly ray

This beautiful ray is found in sandy or muddy environments. Forms on the east and west coasts of Australia are distinct – the eastern butterfly ray has a shorter tail. It is a specialist feeder on bony fish and its disc is approximately 1.8 to 2 times the length of its body.
