The ray’s upper surfacesurf is a pale yellowish-brown with large blue dots. It is distinguishabledistin from other bluespottedbluesp maskrays by its tail patternpat of spots. It also has narrownar black-and-white bandsband near the tip. Around northernno Australia, it inhabits deep sandy bottoms, 25–90m down, near rocky or coral reefs.
