THE HOT PINK SLUGS OF MOUNT KAPUTAR NP

-

These unusual, near-fluorescent slugs grow to 20cm, making them stand out against the greens and browns of Mount Kaputar. They are restricted to a moist, 1000ha patch of habitat on an extinct volcano near Narrabri. Gastropods here – including the Kaputar cannibal snail and Kaputar hairy snail – can be spotted year-round, but most often appear after rain.
