Jade Hameister

-

JADE HAMEISTER’S personal creed is ‘have a go’. The 16-year-old set five new records after completing her epic 1300km, 37-day journey along the Amundsen Coast to the South Pole in January. Jade is the youngest person and first Australian woman to ski (unsupported and unassisted) from the coast to the South Pole and the first woman to set a new route through the Transantarctic Mountain Range. In 2016, at 14, Jade completed a recordbreaking ski to the North Pole and was named the Society’s Young Adventurer of the Year. In 2017 she became the youngest woman to cross Greenland. With the completion of her South Pole adventure, Jade is the youngest person to ski to both poles and complete the Polar Hat Trick. She hopes other young women will explore their possibilities.
