Around Australia
LISA BLAIR, AGS’s 2017 Spirit of Adventure awardee, first sailed into the history books when, after many months at sea, she completed the first solo circumnavigation of Antarctica by a woman. Lisa is now on track to being the first woman to sail non-stop and unassisted around Australia. Departing Sydney Harbour in October last year, Lisa is sailing a fully eco-powered vessel and hopes to set a new solo and mono-hull speed record for the 6536 nautical mile journey. As we went to press, Lisa was rounding Western Australia’s south-west corner, with about 1300 nautical miles to the finish line.
