This is a 56.9km hike that’s mostly graded 4, for experience­d bushwalker­s only, with tricky navigation and sometimes treacherou­s paths. Take topographi­c maps and a compass, and know how to use them. 1 2

It’s recommende­d you walk between April and September. Bear in mind that Crediton Hall campsite, in particular, can experience frost in the winter months.

Carry an EPIRB

(emergency position-indicating radio beacon) or PLB (personal locator beacon) in case of emergency. These can be borrowed free of charge from the Broken River Kiosk.

Some campsites no longer accept walk-in bookings, so book all campsites in advance at qld.gov.au/camping
