AGS bushfire fund update

- See: fnpw.org.au

THE FINAL $15,000 of the AG Society’s $50,000 pledge towards bushfire relief, promised in November 2019, has been disbursed to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife (FNPW). It will be used to help the FNPW’s longterm response – a network of bushfire recovery nurseries. The FNPW and its partners have committed to planting 1 million trees across SA, Victoria, NSW, the ACT and Queensland during the next five years. The project will involve the existing community-based native plant nurseries and build capacity and prepare trees for planting when burnt land has recovered. The FNPW plans to involve volunteers in regenerating damaged environments once the COVID-19 threat has lessened.
