Expedition highlights

• Hosted by two of Australia’s foremost reef experts, Dr Dean Miller from the Australian Geographic Society, and Dr Charlie Veron, widely known as the ‘Godfather of Coral’.

• Participat­e in real scientific research projects, including the annual migration of dwarf minke whales, plus coral surveying and identifica­tion for the world-first Living Coral Biobank project.

• Explore the extraordin­ary Osprey Reef, observe overnight scientific research of the elusive nautilus mollusc, swim with dwarf minke whales and connect with Indigenous culture.

Ten nights Cairns to Cairns

Departing Cairns, this expedition explores some of the remote edges of the outer reef, uncovering beautiful and complex habitats in the sanctuary of the Coral Sea.

Points of interest include Ribbon Reef’s #9 and #10, Osprey Reef, Sudbury Cay and Stanley Island.

On board, the Citizen Science program is curated by accomplish­ed reef experts Dr Charlie Veron and Dr Dean Miller. The dual focuses of the expedition are the annual migration of dwarf minke whales (you’ll have the chance to swim eye to eye with these magnificen­t marine mammals), and coral surveying and identifica­tion for the world-first Living Coral Biobank project.
