Six days of genuine conservation work
Day 1: Meet and greet with welcome drinks and snacks.
Days 2–7: The Australian Geographic Lord Howe Island Expedition itinerary is flexible, to take advantage of the best weather and conditions. Key activities will include surveying established Birdlife Atlas sites from North Bay to the summit of Mt Gower to investigate the impact of rodent removal; marine life surveys of the Lord Howe Island Marine Park with NSW Marine Parks; and invertebrate surveys as conditions allow.
The expedition is based at the beautiful Pinetrees Lodge, where guests can expect authentic personal service, full breakfasts and lunches, afternoon teas and delicious four-course dinners. Afternoons can be spent in the water, exploring by bicycle, hiking around the World Heritagelisted island or taking advantage of lodge facilities such as the day spa, or visiting the boatshed for a sunset drink.
